The effect of sulfur impurities in syngas is evaluated for Fischer-Tropsch synthesis with cobalt catalysts. The catalysts modified with a chelating agent, with smaller crystallites and higher active-site densities, displayed improved performance relative to the base-case cobalt catalyst.
