Green Synthesis of Quinolines from Nitroarenes and Primary Aliphatic Alcohols over a Heterogeneous Catalyst (withdrawn)

Quinoline and 3-alkylquinolines were synthesized from the reaction of nitrobenzene with mixed alcohols of methanol and other higher primary aliphatic alcohols over a heterogeneous Cu-Pd/Al₂O₃ catalyst in the presence of water under mild conditions, thus providing a green and economical route for the synthesis of quinoline and quinoline derivatives.
