Research on new catalysts for biomass catalytic pyrolysis (BCP) includes tailoring porosity and acidity, while generation of mesoporosity in zeolites can enhance accessibility of active sites, addressing diffusion limitation problems. Two commercial ZSM-5 zeolites (various SiO2/Al2O3) were submitted to successive desilication/dealumination treatment to form mesoporosity, characterized and evaluated in BCP.
