The conversion of heavy oil or residue during the hydroprocessing is a key issue of apprehension. During the hydroprocessing, asphaltenes molecule undergoes a structural and chemical compatibility changes (sediment formation), which may lead to unstable products yield and increases coke lay-down on the catalyst.
