P-W-BRC-54 Mechanism of Methane Chemical Looping Combustion Using Fe2O3 Promoted with CeO2

This study demonstrates the CeO2 promoted Fe2O3 oxygen carrier suitable for the CH4 CLC process. Fixed bed tests show addition of 5 wt% CeO2 improves reactivity and capacity of Fe2O3 producing almost twice as much CO2 per-unit time compared to the sum of CO2 when the oxides are tested separately.
