The effect of sodium on the surface structure, redox properties, and surface acidity/basicity of VOx/CeO2 was investigated using various techniques. Moreover, the sodium effect on the catalytic performance of VOx/CeO2 was further probed using methanol partial oxidation. A possible structure-activity relationship was proposed.
