The effect of Ca and Ba addition on Ni/Al₂O₃catalysts was studied in order to reduce ethylene formation and C deposition in ESR. The catalysts showed promising results, mainly the Ca added catalyst, probably due to the presence of CaO species that were more efficient in reducing the support acidity.
