Combining advanced physical and chemical adsorption techniques gives a clear picture of the pore structure and acidic sites in metal-organic framework (MOF) catalysts. Applicability of NH3 chemisorption (static and dynamic) for assessing different acidic sites in MOFs is demonstrated and guides proposal and synthesis of new, highly catalytically active MOFs.
