The behavior of CO on ZrO2 depends on the surface hydroxyl species. The effect of different hydroxylation treatments applied before CO adsorption on the zirconia will be presented. Temperature-programmed methods combined with microkinetic modeling and DRIFT spectroscopy are used to examine the amount and reactivity of the adsorbed surface species.
