The objective was to investigate the SCR mechanism on Cu-exchanged SAPO-34. The formation of surface nitrates and nitrites is a key step and NH4NO3 formed on Lewis acid sites react with NO to produce N2. Bronsted acid sites act as an NH3 reservoir for SCR at Lewis acid sites.
