We have studied the structure-performance correlations to guide HTFT catalyst development. With the complementary techniques of extended X-ray absorption spectroscopy (XAS), X-ray diffraction (XRD) and TEM the structural differences in the catalyst at various stages of the process (reduction, activation, HTFT) have been unraveled and structure-performance correlations have been established.
