P-M-BRC-31 Selective Synthesis of Large-diameter Single-walled Carbon Nanotubes through Water-assisted Ethanol Pyrolysis Using Co-MCM41 catalysts

Large-diameter single-walled carbon nanotubes were synthesized using Co incorporated in MCM-41 catalysts through ethanol pyrolysis. The effects of adding water to the synthesis system were investigated. We find that the size of the metallic particles that seed the growth of SWNTs is highly sensitive to the steam/ethanol ratio.
