New Catalysts for the Efficient Synthesis of Diglycerol Dicarbonate

Utilizing both heterogeneous and organocatalytic systems, we present the successful conversion of diglycerol to diglycerol dicarbonate. Both systems show high activity and selectivity under mild, solventless conditions. The heterogeneous catalysts can easily be recovered and reused. This product can play an important role as a building block for greener polymers.
