Sodium titanate nanotubes (STNT) were synthesized, characterized and tested for first time in the transesterification of soybean oil with methanol.  High biodiesel yields were obtained with this catalyst. In addition, it was found that STNT catalyst can be easily removed from the reaction mixture and reused for several times.
