O-F-Seg-3 Structure and Composition of Supported Palladium Catalysts During Hydrodeoxygenation of Phenol in Water

In operando X-ray Absorption Spectroscopy was used to characterize supported Pd nanoparticles in the aqueous phase. The particles increased slightly in size caused by absorption of hydrogen when reduction of phenol was complete, otherwise the particles were unaffected by water, acid, substrates or the supports (C, Al2O3 or SiO2).
