Pt/ZrO2 and Pt/SiO2 were tested to evaluate the effect of support on the reaction of HDO of phenol. Different product distributions were observed depending on the nature of the support. Pt/ZrO2 was the most active catalyst and showed the best performance for deoxygenation of phenol. Pt/SiOfavored the hydrogenolysis reaction.
