O-Tu-Com-9 Carbon Nanofiber Supported MgO and La2O3 as Selective Catalysts for the Aldol Coupling Reaction at Room Temperature

We investigate the aldol reaction using reusable solid base catalyst with the purpose of maximizing the selectivity towards β-hydroxy ketone thus suppressing elimination of water. La2O3/CNF displayed high activity, selectivity toward the desired aldol product and stability toward traces of water.
