The developed catalyst is highly active and stable at lower H2O/CO ratios (H2O/CO= 2) as compared to an industrial high temperature shift catalyst. The supported iron oxide on zirconium dioxide is resistant to over-reduction to metallic iron and hence has lower propensity for coke formation at lower H2O/CO ratios.
