P-Tu-BRC-70 Catalytic Hydrodeoxygenation of Propionic Acid over Supported Group VIII Noble Metals

Our project consists on exploring heterogeneous catalytic gas-phase hydrodeoxygenation (HDO) of biomass derived carboxylic acid (i.e. Propionic Acid) to produce hydrocarbon. The catalysts screened comprised of group VIII metals supported over SiO2, followed by Pd and Ru over different support at temperatures of 473- 673 K and 1 atm pressure.
