The synthesis of SAPO-56 crystals via microwave heating assisted method is presented. The resultant crystals displayed high catalytic activity in the synthesis of chloropropene carbonate from CO2 and epichlorohydrin. This was related to high CO2 adsorption capacity, and the presence of both Bronsted and Lewis acid sites in its framework.
