O-M-Com-6 Sulfur Poisoning and On-Stream Regeneration of a Ru/C Catalyst for Hydrothermal Biomass Reforming

Combining in-situ XAS, isotope labeling and DFT calculations, we present how sulfur poisoning influences catalyst structure and distribution of hydrocarbon surface adsorbates on a Ru/C catalyst during hydrothermal reforming of organics. Oxidative regeneration at mild conditions fully restores catalyst structure and activity, an important step towards efficient biomass-to-SNG processes.
