Novel Nitrogen Doped Carbon Xerogel as High Active Oxygen Reduction Reaction Catalyst in Acid and Alkaline Media

Novel nitrogen-doped carbon xerogel for oxygen reduction reaction was prepared via a facile sol-gel process. Results show that the catalyst displays comparable ORR activity with Pt/C in alkaline medium, and relative high activity in acid media, demonstrating its promising application as non-precious cathode catalyst in fuel cells.
