Co-processing biomass-derived phenolic compounds with conventional hydrocarbon feeds in existing FCC units is a promising strategy. In this study, we have analyzed the effects of the presence of phenolic compounds on the reaction pathways of paraffin cracking over USY zeolite, as well as on the rate of catalyst deactivation.
