Catalysts with high activity and C2-C4 olefins selectivity, low CH4 production and excellent mechanical stability were prepared by dispersing Na and S promoted iron nanoparticles on α-Al2O3. Highly selective promoted bulk catalysts could be obtained, however, they exhibited a poor mechanical stability due to extensive coke formation.
