In this paper we address two well-known ‘structure-sensitive’ reactions, dehydrocyclization and hydroformylation. Specifically, using planar oxide supported Pt and Rh model nanoparticle catalysts, respectively, the role of micro-morphology (geometric) and limited-dimensional (electronic) effects on the critical kinetic steps of the respective reaction are addressed.
