Effective tar and methane removal catalysts are needed for efficiently producing a clean syngas that is obtained from the gasification of biomass.  This work addresses the development of precious metal-based catalysts utilized for a catalytic syngas cleanup process enabling subsequent syngas conversion to chemicals and fuels.
