Removal of oxidized sulfur compounds is one of the components of ODS and is usually carried out by non-dissociative processes for hydrocarbon upgrade. Here catalytic decomposition of oxidized sulfur compounds was studied over magnesia to yield sulfur free hydrocarbon moieties. Structure-activity of catalysts and reaction mechanism will be presented.
