Gas-phase glycerol reforming is structure sensitivity on Pt/C. The activity and selectivity change with the pH feed solutions. pH is acid, the activity decreases and the selectivity switched towards acetol. Probably, the dehydration mechanism plays an important role. When basic, more syn-gas is formed, denoting  retro-aldol mechanism is dominating
