RTI is developing a novel fluidizable Ni-based catalyst and TRM process which possesses significant cost savings over existing commercial methanation technologies. Preliminary development efforts have identified two promising fluidizable Ni-based catalyst formulations (Cat-1 and Cat-3) which possess equivalent or better CO2 methanation activity than existing commercial fixed-bed catalysts.
