OF33 Water adsorption and diffusion on Pt(111), kinks and steps

A DFT study describing water adsorption, diffusion and early cluster formation on Pt(111) terrace where steps and kinks play an important role. Our calculations suggest that at approximately 100 K, water monomer will diffuse up to steps and kinks and form chains on step edges before wetting the lower terrace.
