Ethanol SCR of NOx over silver alumina catalysts for vehicle emissions control shows a lower lightoff temperature for ethanol than for NOx conversion or for ethanol with oxygen alone at low space velocities.  This may suggest a new role for NO2 in the mechanism of this HC-SCR reaction.
