We describe a novel way to measure electronic effects on a Pt/TiO2 catalytic diode using a bias voltage and a novel multilayer enhanced IRAS technique. We show that the Pt-CO bond is altered by controlling charge transfer at the junction; directly demonstrating for the first time the Schwab's electronic effect.
