P-Tu-150 Effect of the Brønsted acid site strength on ionone isomer distribution during pseudoionone cyclization on solid catalysts

Heteropolyacid and triflic acid supported on silica and Amberlyst 35W convert efficiently pseudoionone into ionones (α-, β-, γ-isomers). Selectivity toward the three ionone isomers strongly depends on the surface acid site strength: α-ionone is favored on Amberlyst while the stronger acid sites of triflic acid give the most valuable β-ionone
