The low temperature Fischer-Tropsch synthesis over washcoated conductive aluminum honeycomb monoliths loaded in externally cooled multitubular reactors is investigated. It is shown that heat conduction in the aluminum support of the catalyst can be exploited, in addition to convection, to remove effectively the heat generated by the strongly exothermic reaction.
