We present work on the autothermal dehydrogenation of propane. This involves selectively combusting about 50% of the hydrogen formed, avoiding the formation of CO, CO2 or other side products. A microkinetic model describing the reaction between propane, propene, hydrogen and oxygen on a platinum catalyst will be described.
