The catalyst body is the workhorse of industrial catalysis. We demonstrate the application of XRD-CT to study the spatio-temporal phase evolution within an extrudate body under ‘reaction conditions’. We show that the technique allows for profiling change in both 2D and 3D within a timescale sufficient to follow solid-state change.
