The hydrodeoxygenation activity for the transformation of 2-Ethylphenol of sulfided promoted catalysts (NiMo/Al2O3 and CoMo/Al2O3) was higher than with unpromoted (Mo/Al2O3). However, the CoMo/Al2O3 catalyst is a good candidate in order to limit the hydrogen consumption under hydrotreating conditions. Indeed, this catalytic system favours the formation of ethylbenzene.
