OA27 Oxidation of Co by H2O and its Effect on the Activity and Selectivity for Ethanol Steam Reforming

We show that Co0 is more active and selective for ethanol steam reforming while Co2+ favors CH4 formation. The stabilization of Co against oxidation by H2O is shown to increase the activity and selectivity of Co catalysts. More active, selective and stable catalysts are designed based on these results.
