The CH4 conversion of a palladium-only catalyst degraded significantly upon extended exposure to lean exhaust until the temperature exceeded 800oC, after which the HC conversion recovered nearly completely.  This recovery is consistent with the decomposition of PdOx to Pdo at 800oC.  Platinum-containing catalysts exhibited much more robust HC activity.
