Ultra-fast catalytic processes for converting hydrocarbons are characterized by extremely severe operating conditions. The application of an in situ sampling technique combined with detailed modeling of surface and gas-phase kinetics allowed to elucidate the interplay between heterogeneous and homogenous reaction routes leading to the formation of syngas in C3H8 CPO.
