SOx abating catalysts derived from hydrotalcites are produced by a cost-effective, environmentally-friendly method. Spray-drying yields a product suitable for FCC units. SOx removal capacity of catalysts was tested in partial and full combustion regenerators. Results show catalysts to be highly active and stable for SOx removal in industrial FCC units.
