Hydrodeoxygenation is one of important catalytic processes used for upgrading bio-oils into liquid transportation fuels. On the basis of density functional theory calculations, we demonstrate that the terminal Ot assisted hydrogen transfer pathway provides a feasible deoxygenation route for CH3CHO into C2H4 on the reduced MoO3(010) surface.
