The adsorption and reaction of ethanol were investigated over ceria nanocrystals with different surface terminations including rod, cube, octahedron, and nanoparticle using IR spectroscopy combined with reactivity test. This study provides fundamental understanding of how surface coordination, decomposition and reaction are affected by the atomic structure of an oxide surface.
