Hydroformylation with two different heterogenized catalysts were investigated: (a) silica supported rhodium nanoparticles modified with triphenylphosphine and (b) supported ionic liquid phase catalysts.  Both catalysts are active and stable under continuous gas phase experiments.  This work provides evidence for the active complex(es) and demonstrates how catalyst composition affects product regioselectivity.
