P-Mo-33 New lanthanum based catalysts for simultaneous esterification and transesterification of fats and oils in first generation biodiesel production

New lanthanum oxide catalysts supported on metal oxide such as ZrO2 and TiO2 have been developed. In the presence of those bifunctional acid – base heterogeneous catalysts esterification and transesterification of unpurified, low cost oils and fats with methanol can be simultaneously performed.
