Modeling of trickle-bed reactors is still an unsolved problem in chemical engineering. Transfer of sophisticated particle scale models derived from easily accessible batch reactor experiments to the trickle-bed reactor model is a promising approach to establish trickle-bed models with predictive power. This is a basic requirement for a proper scale-up.
