The HDS and HDO properties of noble metal phosphide catalysts were investigated.  A Rh2P/SiO2 catalyst was observed to be over three times more active than a Rh/SiO2 catalyst for dibenzothiophene HDS and a RuP/SiO2 catalyst was significantly more active than a Ru/SiO2 catalyst for furan HDO.
