An unprecedented oxygenates selectivity of 70% was achieved with Ru nanoparticles in the liquid phase at low temperature. The selectivity depends on the temperature and particle size. The temperature dependence of oxygenates and hydrocarbons chain lengths indicates that these products are formed on different surface planes of Ru nanoparticles.
