This work fundamentally explores, through a combination of theory and experiment, reaction pathways of ethylene glycol decomposition on Pt and Pt based bimetallic catalysts.  Additionally, a kinetic model is presented which provides descriptors and a qualitative mapping that can lead to the design of new catalytic materials for biomass reforming.
