P-Tu-B-53 Structure-Activity Relationship in Ba0.75NiyAl12-YO19-δ Catalysts during CH4 Partial Oxidation

Ba0.75NiyAl12-yO19-δ catalysts with varying levels of Ni loading were characterized and tested for CH4 partial oxidation.  Performance experiments showed stable products with a H2/CO=2, suitable for FTS.  XANES analysis of used catalysts showed a reaction sequence where CH4 reacted preferentially with O2 followed by reaction with CO2 and H2O.
